Question A:
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KENT COUNTY

Bill no. 1-2006 was enacted by the Kent County Commissioners for the purpose of abolishing the elected position of County Treasurer effective December 31, 2006 (the conclusion of the current retiring Treasurer's term) and designating a Chief Financial Officer, appointed by the County Commissioners, to serve as the collector of taxes for Kent County and to assume the other duties and responsibilities of the County Treasurer's position.

The proposed act enables Kent County to remedy audit identified deficiencies in internal financial controls and inconsistencies in internal financial policies.
