ORIGIN & FUNCTIONS


DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY PLANNING & BUILDING

The Department of Community Planning and Building started as the Department of Planning and Zoning, and adopted its present name in July 2012.

Under the Department are six units: Agriculture, and Enforcement and Zoning; Inspections and Permits; Long-Range Planning; Site Planning; Subdivision Planning; and Transportation Planning. The Department also is aided by the Environmental Commission, the Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board, the Agricultural Reconciliation Committee, and the Planning Commission.


DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Economic Development is assisted by the Agriculture Commission, the Economic Development Authority, and the Economic Development Commission.
