Born in Annapolis, Maryland, January 18, 1919. Attended Annapolis public schools; Annapolis High School. Married; two children, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Died in Annapolis, Maryland, March 29, 2013.
In 1974, Mr. Alton pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to charges of conspiracy to commit extortion. He was sentenced to eighteen months in prison, of which he served seven months at Allenwood Federal Prison Camp, Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
