Born in Baltimore, Maryland, March 14, 1947. Attended Severna Park High School; University of Baltimore, B.A. (psychology), 1969; University of Maryland School of Social Work, M.S.W., 1976. Social worker. Active in community affairs. School and Community Outreach Coordinator, The Johns Hopkins University. Board member, Maryland Food Committee; Fellowship of Lights. Advisory Board, University of Maryland School of Social Work, 2006-07. Past president, Advisory Board, Salvation Army of Central Maryland. Author of articles in Baltimore Sunpapers on the elderly, community organizations in Baltimore, and zero-base budgeting. Legislator Recognition Award, Maryland Association of Counties, 1993.
