In October 2011, the Senate President formed the Committee on Reapportionment and Redistricting. The Committee charge was to consider plans to redraw Maryland's congressional and legislative district lines based on the 2010 federal Census. However, no plans were introduced in the General Assembly except those of the Governor's Redistricting Advisory Committee, which were enacted into law.
